This is one of my favorite Placebo songs. I'd like to list the songs that I have recorded in my writing notebook as "Melancholy and Romanticism."
I wrote this long ago: "I think it's a song that is very representative of Molko's sense of "romanticism." It's another twisted love story gone wrong, but Molko usually writes these sorts of songs with irony in mind. Here, he's completely sincere. Also, he's not really bitter, he appears to feel regret. It's melancholic to be sure.
